Shorter versions of TDL parades will resume on Saturday, January 12th
On Tuesday, January 8th, 2008 at approximately 2:20pm, a pole support inside one of the floats broke and fell off during the Disney Dreams on Parade Moving On parade. That daytime parade and the nighttime parade, Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights, performances were cancelled from that day in order to perform internal safety inspections.
Thorough safety checks have been completed. From Saturday, January 12th, both parades will resume daily performances with only floats that have passed comprehensive safety checks.
Safety inspections and tests will continue on the remaining floats and may be re-introduced into the parades at a later date.
For Disney's Dreams on Parade Moving On at 2:00pm:
13 of the 17 floats will return on Jan 12th
For Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights at 7:30pm:
24 of the 29 floats will return on Jan 12th
With regards to the January 8th float incident, a third-party company is conducting independent investigations based on an internal investigation.
OLC apologizes for any concerns and inconveniences brought upon Park guests and groups due to the incident. The company will do its utmost to ensure confidence in managing park safety.
