Major Changes to Come to Sindbad Attraction
According to LaughingPlace.com's Lee MacDonald
The Tokyo DisneySea attraction "Sindbad's Seven Voyages" closed today for a 7-month renewal period which will see major
changes and additions to the "Arabian Coast" ride.
On the LaughingPlace.com message boards, Lee MacDonald wrote that changes include a new name "Sindbad's Storybook Adventures" and marquee, a new song by Alan Menken and Glen Slater titled "The Compass of Your Heart", a change in appearances to the audio-animatronic characters, a new character called "Chendu" and much more. A detailed interview with the executive producer, complete storyline and photos will also be available in the next issue of Laughing Place Magazine.
The water vessel attraction is similar in type to "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "it's a small world" located at Tokyo Disneyland next door. Since it opened with the Park grand opening in September 2001, it's been a "disappointing" attraction in terms of attracting guests. It has one of the lowest guest riderships of any attraction at the Resort. Company officials hope the changes will attract larger crowds to this area of the Park.
