Opening Day Tokyo DisneySea Shows Coming to an End
URAYASU, CHIBA - The official Tokyo DisneySea website has announced the final performance dates for a number of shows this summer.
All of the following shows premiered with the opening of the Park in 2001. With the Park's 5th anniversary celebrations starting on July 14th, 2006, new shows will eventually replace these.
Porto Paradiso Water Carnival, the daytime "Mediterranean Harbor" show will end on May 7th, 2006. The largest show in the Park featured 20 water vessels and hundreds of performers in a show to mark the naming and opening of Porto Paradiso. The special finale version called "Eterno" playing daytime and nighttime shows until that day. The new show, "The Legend of Mythica," begins July 14th, 2006 currently being developed by Steve Davison.

Sail Away, performed at the "Dockside Stage" in "American Waterfront," ends on June 19th, 2006. This show, played up to five times daily, marked the ceremony of the maiden voyage for the S.S. Columbia. There is no official replacement announced yet, but rumors suggest a modified version of the current show featuring an all-Japanese cast along with characters.

Encore!, the Broadway-style revue show at the "Broadway Music Theater" in "American Waterfront", has its last performance on July 4th, 2006. The show has seen many changes in scenes, number of performers and script during its almost 5-year run. A temporary replacement, currently titled "Broadway Jazz" will run throughout the 5th annivesary events. A permanent show based on Hans Christian Andersen's The Snow Queen, featuring the works of Alan Menken, Amon Miyamoto, John Weidman and Glen Slater, starts next summer.

Lido Isle Meet & Smile has its final greeting on July 9th, 2006. The morning character greeting show in "Mediterranean Harbor" featured a number of Tokyo DisneySea characters approaching the small island stage area by transit steamer. A new show for the 5th anniversary celebrations will replace it from July 14th, 2006. No official name has been announced.
