URAYASU, CHIBA - Recently, the media have reported that a person has been indicted for the leaking of information on holders of Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea Annual Passports. The leak was announced at the beginning of this year. Oriental Land Company regrets that the accused was an employee of the subcontractor to the outside company contracted to develop and maintain the information management system for the list of Annual Passport holders. Having learned of the indictment, we are now deliberating on what actions to take towards the contracted company.
Regarding the current information management system, as soon as it became clear that information had been leaked, the system security and information management organization were strengthened. Guests and other concerned persons can rest assured that these are now in a well- maintained condition.
Since this incident has caused discomfort and concern to our Annual Passport holders and many other persons, the company resolves to maintain a strong information management organization in order to prevent this situation from occurring again. Oriental Land Company wishes to express its appreciation of the Police Department and the Public Prosecutor for their tenacious criminal investigation that led to the indictment of the accused.
