Apparent Theft of Tokyo Disney Resort Guests' Personal Information
URAYASU, CHIBA - Oriental Land Co., Ltd. regrets to announce that personal information
pertaining to past and present holders of "Tokyo Disneyland" and "Tokyo DisneySea" Annual
Passports has somehow leaked out from the company. The situation up to now and the actions
to be taken by the company are as follows.
The situation up to now
Starting December 23, 2004, a number of past and present Annual Passport holders reported
to Oriental Land Co. that they had received suspicious telephone calls. Then on December 29,
the company received a telephone call from a suspicious person who gave examples of names
and other information on Annual Passport holders that he claimed to have in his possession.
After carefully checking the situation, Oriental Land Co. determined that guest information
had leaked out or had been stolen from the company in an undetermined manner.
Considering this a very serious matter, Oriental Land Co. immediately began an internal
investigation. However, further particulars have not been discovered so far. Oriental Land Co.
sincerely apologizes for the discomfort and concern this incident has caused our guests. We
also ask guests to exercise great caution should they receive any suspicious calls. (Oriental
Land Co. does not contact Annual Passport holders by telephone.)
Actions to be taken
Oriental Land Co. established a special committee on January 4, 2005, headed by Oriental Land
Co. president Toshio Kagami, to conduct a detailed and prompt investigation. As the
investigation continues, progress and details thereof will be made public.
